The story behind the scent
James Whitcomb Riley knows well the intoxicating nature of desire. In his poem In The Heart of June, a pair of lovers feel “Drugged and half aswoon” as they stretch languorously under the mid-summer sun or bathe in the moonlight. They want only to “drink all life holds”, to be in the moment with their passion.
