At Poesia, we think holistically and understand that sustainability ambitions deliver a return on investment for all stakeholders involved.

As a new company, we’re in the fortunate position of being able to make all of our business decisions through the lens of sustainability. This commitment is built into our business model and it inspires us to make correct decisions every step of the way.

We acknowledge that sustainable beauty is always a work in progress and we strive to become even more sustainable as our company grows. Here are some of the ways this translates into the practical actions we take with every product we make.

Vegan-friendly

Our candles are made from a vegan-friendly and cruelty-free blend of soy wax and coconut wax. This creates a cleaner burn, with no black soot or smoke and a cleaner reset. Of course, it goes without saying that no Poesia products have been tested on animals – and they never will be.

Responsible production

From day one, all Poesia candles have been hand-poured in our Australian headquarters. This small-batch manufacturing allows us to ensure that responsible technologies are used at every step of the way. Simply put, each candle is made and packaged with love.

Sustainable materials

We believe we have a responsibility to tread lightly on the earth and to make conscientious choices with all of the materials we use. This is why you won’t find plastic packaging or wrapping on any Poesia product. What’s more, our elegant cardboard packaging is made using sustainable printing practices and bio-inks.

Small carbon footprint

To help minimise our carbon footprint, we work with ethical local suppliers. All Poesia wax, oil fragrances, packaging design and printing are manufactured or sourced in Australia. Only the jars and wicks are currently sourced from overseas.

Giving back

We aim for Poesia to make a positive difference to the local community by supporting local and international charities through fundraising, volunteering, and product donations. We are proud to donate 5% from every purchase to the Casa Noah Foundation, so that each purchase you make helps support vulnerable children around the world.
