The water-dwelling lotus opens each day at dawn, a minor miracle that’s accompanied by its unmistakable scent – crisp, clean and aquatic with a squeeze of citrus. It’s not for nothing that this is known as the flower of the gods. By night, however, the lotus completely submerges into its watery home. This is the witching hour, the time when tuberose becomes most tantalising, releasing its rich and creamy scent to intoxicating effect.
The story behind the scent
Oscar Wilde’s Roses and Rue is an ode to love past, a poignant reflection of what was shared and what might have been. His memories bloom with all the romance of the tuberose flower but are underscored by a sharp tang as reality strikes.
